had Spanish last semester. We celebrated Day of the Dead. Or learned about it rather. Bah. But I'm so glad we have semester classes. i would go crazy if i had Spanish all year. Though 1 1/2 hours did try my patience, even if it was only one semester.

Yep. I'll have it year round next two year and this year. Though junior and senior year are college credit hours.

That sucks. AP classes here are the only college credit you get. And thats still only a semester I believe. But I've heard that, while you get college credit, you should still take the classes in college even if you took AP here.

Yeah, in our high school we can get lots of college credit. Almost the entire freshman year. ;D

In Mexico, they barely celebrate Cinco de Mayo. It's actually a bigger celebration in the US than in Mexico, which is kind of sad, really. I remember that from the days of 5th grade Spanish.
Anyhow...freshman can take AP at your school? No fair!

No. Pre-AP starts as sophmore. AP and college credit start as juniors. But you can take college classes outside of school and get the credit early if you can pass the test.

Kinda sounds like that one thing like David and Luna did, where they finished high school math at the end of 8th grade. Luna had her AP test today. But thats sorta with the school because she still took Calculus A and B with the school this year. But they dont let you take any AP classes unless you are an exception like the really really smart kids (me and Em are just the really smart kids when i comes to math...only at the Junior level rather than post-high school. The sophemores in our math are the smart kids, and everyone in 1-4 regular is just smart.).

Wait what? Those in 1-4 regular are smart? Uhhhhhhhh...that would be like saying that 65% of the school is so called "smart," and I beg to differ on that one. Those in the X classes are smart.
Ohh, pre-AP. We don't technically have any classes which are actually registered as pre-AP by the college board, but the option for us freshies was to take an advanced social studies and communications class, which was fun. We can take 1 AP class next year, and then in Junior and Senior year, all of them open up.

Oops didn't mean smart. I meant to say regular. Oops. Smart refered to those in the Xs that are one ahead of what is normally their grade.
Yeah, and we're both taking it. *lifts AP Euro book* and it is really interesting. I'm on the commerce of the eighteenth century right now and such.

Yay for Euro! I really need to start reading it. I'm looking forward to pages 75-100, where the main focus is religion, and the reformations that certain religions went through.

Um, i didn't like that part. Its so stupid that everyone has to have the same religion according to Christians of the time. Thats what I liked about the Turks. They had a tolerance policy when it came to Jews and Christians, even though they were Muslim.

Ok halt right there. Ice, I know exactly what that is leading to, and I must respectfully insist that the religion issue not be brought up on this thread as well.

Hey I'm just saying it wasn't my favorite piece of history. I much prefer the French Revolution. And I'm not saying that happens now. The Spanish Inquisition was a result of that, but thats a piece of history. not talking about it would be like not talking about the Nazis and the persecution of Jews.
