Time........the overshadowing force in all events....past....present....and future. It has been hundreds of years since the forces of darkness and the Dark Lord's reign of terror was dismantled by a single hobbit. The hobbits, of course, fade into obscurity once again, as hobbits tend to do. Years change into decades which in turn change into centuries. Leaves fall, and seasons pass. One by one, the remaining wizards begin to disappear, fading into time’s giant cyclone, until only a handful remain. A new era begins to emerge. An era of progress, scorn, greed, ambition, and corruption. The race of men multiply like flies infesting themselves in Middle Earth as a gigantic horde. The Old Ways are regarded as outdated, burial grounds are looted, temples destroyed, bridges built, roads made, once sacred places destroyed in a tide of progress. The noble race of elves, remain one of the last races in Middle Earth that hold fast to the Old Ways and beliefs, watching in horror as their very way of life begins to erode away from beneath them. Tension runs high, and a council has been organized by the remaining wizards of Middle Earth in an attempt to settle the disputes between men and elves. Every clan and race is represented by one chosen by their respective clan. The council meets once every two years, but still tension mounts.....a bow strung taunt ready to be released with the slightest whisper.... Our tale takes place shortly before one of these meetings, at the dawn of a new age......
